What we checked, and what each check showed
This page sets out the desk work behind every claim on this site. Each check below names what we looked at, when we looked and what status the result carries. The status labels come straight from our findings and are not upgraded here.
The short version: we read regulator records, licence registers, law, review databases and public player platforms. We did not open an account, deposit or withdraw. Our site-wide last checked date is 6 October 2026, and our last material update is the same day.
The regulator record check
We read ACMA’s own publications and the formal warning document rather than relying on summaries.
ACMA’s July 2023 article ACMA blocks 5 more illegal offshore gambling websites and its Blocked gambling websites page record that Australian internet providers were asked to block Royal Reels and four other offshore sites for breaching the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. Status: Verified, as of July 2023.
We also opened the Formal Warning to Digibrite S.R.L. (Reef Reels and Royal Reels) and ACMA’s Action on interactive gambling, April to June 2023. They record an investigation from 8 June 2023 — the record shows an investigation opened 8 May 2023 and a formal warning dated 14 June 2023 to Digibrite S.R.L., Avlonos 1, 1075 Nicosia, Cyprus, under section 15(2A) of the Act. Status: Verified, as of 14 June 2023.
Limit: a formal warning and a blocking request are records of regulatory action at a point in time. They do not tell us who controls the brand today.
The blocked-domain count
We read seven ACMA quarterly reports covering the third quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2026, including Action on interactive gambling, July to September 2025 and Action on interactive gambling and gambling advertising, January to March 2026.
Across those reports we counted 14 or more blocked Royal Reels domains, numbered up to 21, plus mirrors of Reef Reels, ReefSpins and The Pokies. Status: Verified, as of March 2026.
Limit: five quarterly reports in the series remain unread, so the count is a floor, not a total. We name mirrors only by number and never as addresses. The pattern is set out in full in our numbered domains investigation.
The licence register checks
We went to the registers themselves rather than to the licence badges shown on review sites.
| Register checked | What we looked for | Result | Status |
|---|
| PAGCOR, Offshore gaming | Any current internet gaming licence | PAGCOR cancelled all internet gaming licences from 15 December 2024 and calls claims of a valid licence fraudulent, so a listed PAGCOR licence cannot be current | Resolved (as of 15 December 2024) |
| Curacao Gaming Authority, licence registry (2 October 2026) and enforcement register (14 September 2026) | Digibrite, Royal Reels or Viral Market | No entry found (automated read) | Under investigation (as of 2 October 2026) |
| Kahnawake Gaming Commission, permit holders (updated September 2023) | Royal Reels, Digibrite or Viral Market | Not listed | Verified (as of 28 September 2023) |
| Anjouan agent’s register of gaming licenses | Royal Reels, Digibrite or Viral Market | Not listed | Verified |
The register documents are PAGCOR’s Offshore gaming page, the Curacao Gaming Authority’s licence registry, 2 October 2026 and enforcement register, 14 September 2026, the Kahnawake permit holders list and the Anjouan register of gaming licenses.
Limits we state openly: the Curacao read was automated and a manual recheck is pending, which is why that line stays Under investigation. The Kahnawake and Anjouan lists may be stale. Published register lists can lag behind decisions. The claim-by-claim working is on our licence claims investigation.
The terms and conditions check
We could not test the casino’s own published terms. No register we checked lists an approved Royal Reels website, so the terms quoted across this site come from third-party databases rather than from an official source. Status: Under investigation, as of 6 October 2026. The payment agent behind deposits is unknown to us.
That is why pages on withdrawal limits and waiting times and bonus conditions show every variant with the database that published it, instead of a single figure. The actual terms a player is shown may differ from any of them.
The player report tally
We counted and classified public reports ourselves rather than repeating a platform’s summary.
On Trustpilot, our tally of the 80 latest reviews on the main domain profile (October 2024 to May 2026, 77 of them from Australia) found withdrawals raised in 20, KYC in 9, account closures in 9 and allegations of rigged games in 9, with 10 positive. Status: Verified, as of 10 May 2026. The Trustpilot profile for the main domain shows 1.8 out of 5 from 176 reviews, with 75% one-star. Status: Verified, as of 6 October 2026. Our tally is a rough classification by us, and reviewers choose themselves whether to post, so it is not a sample of all customers.
On Casino.guru we read 15 complaint files from 2023 to 2026, 14 of them Australian. Withdrawals led with 6; 3 were resolved, 1 unresolved and 11 rejected or closed, 9 of those after the player stopped responding. Status: Verified, as of 12 March 2026. Sources: Casino.guru’s Royal Reels Casino review and complaint files, accessed 6 October 2026. The breakdown sits in our withdrawal complaints investigation.
What we did not test
The research desk did not open an account with Royal Reels, did not deposit money, did not claim a bonus and did not request a withdrawal. We have not played any game on the site and we have not contacted its support channels as a customer. Nothing on this site is a hands-on payout test.
We also do not test or report which address works at any given moment, and we do not link to the casino or to affiliate sites that do.
The author’s own experience, kept separate
Our checks are desk research. Justin Moore, who reviews the findings before publication, is a Royal Reels customer who has written about his experience on Trustpilot. His account is his own and is not part of the desk’s testing.
Writing on Trustpilot on 28 November 2025, he said: “I have been speaking to customer support for half an hour easy trying to get my cash back activated but they keep telling me it’s by invitation even though it clearly says in app that anyone can receive cash back on Friday’s.” (Trustpilot, 28 November 2025)
On 11 December 2025 he wrote: “I emailed the VIP team and there reply was that if it wasn’t given on the day then there was no way of giving me the outstanding spins, I also have those emails so it’s not something I am making up.” (Trustpilot, 11 December 2025)
These are one customer’s reports on a public platform, not established facts, and not findings of ours. More about his role is on his author page.
How often we recheck
Withdrawals, bonuses, account restrictions, complaints and domains are rechecked weekly. Legal status, licence and ownership, games and fairness, player protection and transparency are rechecked monthly. The next monthly update is due in November 2026. The label rules, evidence types and correction process are set out in our methodology, and our independence is explained on the about page.
